PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Josephine Sheridan Biggins, formerly of Pearl River, died Monday, July 4. She was 78.
Born Aug.10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Ellen Biggins.
She attended St. Barnabas High Schoo in the Bronx.
She was a homemaker for 57 years, as well as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and The Pearl River Ambulance Corps. She was a devout Catholic whose faith and fortitude inspired all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Peter F. Sheridan; children, Peter T. Sheridan of Pearl River, Thomas F. Sheridan (Vincent Walsh) of Washington D.C., Catherine Lawlor (John) of Little Rock, Ark., Ann Sheridan (Erich Steinbrunn) of Manahawkin, N.J. and Maureen Sheridan of Nyack.; a sister, Mary Ellen Desmond of Pearl River; grandchildren, Jack, Cara and Colleen Lawlor of Little Rock, Ark. and Tyler Steinbrunn of Manahawkin, N.J.; and 13 nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Thomas, John and William Biggins and Sr. Maria Goretti O.P. (Catherine Biggins).
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church, 747 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, N.J. Mass will follow at noon and burial will be private at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Barnegat.
